The legendary Whitehall Hotel The Whitehall possesses a rich and treasured history in Chicago dating back to 1928, when the shoreline of Lake Michigan was one block west of Michigan Avenue, Lake Shore Drive began at Oak Street, and the tallest building in Chicago at the time, the Palmolive Building, was nearing completion on the corner of Michigan and Walton.
